But I can’t tell

  1. It’s not too small.
  2. I play tennis at times.
  3. How long does it take to go there?
  4. Let’s get together this Sunday.
  5. That’s not today but tomorrow.
  6. I can’ t tell which is which.
  7. I went to Tokyo Skytree for the first time yesterday.
  8. He’s such an excellent teacher.
  9. The average flight time is six hours.
  10. I’m looking for a part time job.

和訳

Quick Response

1. It’s not too small.

→ Too tight. Something bigger?

2. I play tennis at times.

→ Where? Let’s play together.

3. How long does it take to go there?

→ 10 minutes by car. 20 minutes by foot.

4. Let’s get together this Sunday.

→ Sorry, I can’t make it. How about the following Sunday?

5. That’s not today but tomorrow.

→ Oh, silly me. Thanks.

6. I can’t tell which is which.

→ I don’t blame you. Look carefully.

7. I went to Tokyo Skytree for the first time yesterday.

→ Oh, did you? How did you like it?

8. He’s such an excellent teacher.

→ Really? I don’t know about that.

9. The average flight time is six hours.

→ I thought it was longer. That’s not too bad.

10. I’m looking for a part time job.

→ Oh, are you? What job?

4 make it 間に合う

6 I can’t tell (you)

 I don’t blame you.

7 Oh, did you?

8 Really?

I don’t know about that.

10 Oh, are you? areが強くて語尾が下がり「あ、そうなんだ」という相槌的ニュアンス。
