弱く曖昧に発音される母音（２）
POINT＞：my presentation 私のプレゼンテーション
presentationの語末は「プレゼンテーション」ではなく，「プレゼンテーシャン」のように聞こえます。
これは，語末の-tionのtとnにはさまれた[io]にアクセントがないので，非常に弱く発音されるからです。
1. That was a good presentation. いいプレゼンテーションでした。
2. Enjoy your vacation! 休暇を楽しんで！
3. Where is the nearest station? 最寄り駅はどこですか？
4. Pay attention in class. 授業に集中しなさい。
5. May I ask you a question? 質問よろしいですか？
6. I like science fiction movies.私は、 SF映画が好きです。
7. Give me directions to the station. 駅までの道順を教えてください。
8. The United Nations is in New York. 国連はニューヨークにあります。
9. Where did you get that information? その情報をどこで入手しましたか？
10. Where is the reception? 受付はどこですか？
1.はthe good presentationとは言わない。theだと限定されてしまうため。
4.のpayとattentionは同じくらいの強さ。
5.のquestionは他と違い「ション」という音になるがこれはtionの前にsがあるためそのように聞こえる
8 The United Nationsはsがつくけど単数形。
常任理事国はeternal 5とかforever 5と言われているようです。ちなみにgoogle検索だとpermanent 5となっています。
いずれも「永遠に核兵器を持ち続けられる国」という意味が込められているらしい。
9 Where did youがとても早いのでこの塊で音としておぼえましょう。
理屈で覚えるのではなく「音」で覚えることで会話の反応力をみがきましょう。

メモ
make reservations : 予約は1つなのになぜ複数形か、ですが、これはmake reservationsもmake a reservationも両方よく使う表現なのでどちらでもよい。
where you can be reachedはwhere I can reach youでもいいが、相手の立場にたった表現なのでより丁寧な言い方になる。
How may I help youでHowが入っているのはより丁寧な表現になる。
partyはグループの意味
under “Matsui”のunderは「〜という名前で」という言い方でよく使われる表現。

ニュースの題材で速読を通じて英語耳のトレーニング。
英語耳が開く段階。
- 第1段階：単語が聞こえる、文字が浮かぶ
- 第2段階：言っている意味（特に強く言っているところ）がわかる
- 第3段階：絵が浮かんでくる。自分で発音するのがトレーニング方法。
