私はイギリスと同性愛というと、映画「イミテーションゲーム」の主人公アラン・チューリングのことを思い出します。
第二次世界大戦でドイツのエニグマという暗号解読に成功した天才数学者アラン・チューリング。
しかし同性愛であることが知れることとなり1952年に逮捕されます。
牢獄に入るか、ホルモン治療をうけるかの選択をせまられアラン・チューリングはホルモン治療を選択するのですが、1954年青酸中毒で死亡します。
自殺といわれているようです。
クエンティンクリスプのようにアメリカに渡って、Stingのようなアーティストに出会っていたら、もしかしたらアラン・チューリングの歌が生まれていたのかも・・・
